What writers came to explore
Members named journaling, creative nonfiction, poetry, fiction, storytelling, grant writing, reflective writing, and documenting local life as areas they want to grow.
Meeting Notes
If you missed our first gathering, this is what we covered and how you can join us next time.
The Big Picture
Kristy Kelly led the group through introductions, a look at the website, a ten-minute freewrite, optional readings, and a conversation about giving feedback with kindness and clarity.
Members named journaling, creative nonfiction, poetry, fiction, storytelling, grant writing, reflective writing, and documenting local life as areas they want to grow.
Everyone wrote for ten minutes without editing or grammar rules. Writers shared pieces ranging from nature writing and humor to personal reflections and community work.
Feedback should help the writer move forward. Writers are encouraged to say what kind of response they want and how they prefer to receive it. Cruel feedback has no place in the group.
Registered members can use writer pages, weekly prompts, lessons, resources, a calendar, and the optional Round Robin story space.

The next gathering will focus on giving and receiving useful feedback. You do not need a polished piece to take part.
Use a Monday prompt or any personal project to make one intentional writing session each week.
Bring anything you are comfortable sharing so the group can practice healthy, productive feedback.
Tell readers whether you want a first reaction, encouragement, grammar help, a developmental question, or something else.
Create a character on the site if you want a playful, low-pressure way to write with the group between meetings.
