Come Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. to the Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library. Bring curiosity, a notebook, and any piece of writing or idea you are ready to sit beside.

What to Expect

A practical, welcoming room.

You can come unfinished

A paragraph, poem, memory, idea, scene, question, or blank notebook is enough. The group is built for beginnings as well as serious drafts.

You do not have to read aloud

Sharing should be invited, never forced. Listening is also participation.

Bring one specific question

Useful questions sound like: Where did you get interested? Where were you confused? What should I develop next?

All kinds of writing count

Memoir, fiction, poetry, journalism, local history, grants, academic writing, professional writing, and private writing all belong at the table.

Feedback stays useful

The group talks about the page, the purpose, and the reader experience. The writer keeps ownership of the work.

The goal is momentum

Leave with one next step: a revision move, a reading example, a prompt, a market to research, or a reason to keep going.
